Learn how to make delicious ground beef crockpot recipes. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (optional, for serving)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until it is no longer pink, breaking it into crumbles with a wooden spoon. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Mama Lu always said a good sauté brings out the love in the ingredients.
  3. Transfer the beef mixture to your crockpot. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Set your crockpot to low heat and let it cook for 6-8 hours. The longer it simmers, the more the flavors meld into a harmonious blend that tastes like home.
  5. Once cooked, serve over your favorite pasta, if desired, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese for an added touch of nostalgia.
