Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons olive oil
Optional: 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese for topping
Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Continue cooking until the beef is browned and no longer pink, about 8-10 minutes.
Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, paprika, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Pour in the beef broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
If desired, sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese over the top and let it melt into the mixture before serving.
Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and an added layer of flavor.
