Learn how to make delicious No bake Grinch Oreo Truffles Recipe. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 36 classic Oreo cookies (about 1 package)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 12 ounces white chocolate chips or white candy melts
  • Green food coloring (gel preferred for vibrant color)
  • Optional: Red candy melts or red decorating gel for the Grinch’s mouth
  • Optional: Edible googly eyes or small candy eyes for decoration

If you’re in a pinch, you can swap cream cheese for mascarpone for a milder flavor, or use dark chocolate instead of white if you prefer a richer taste. When I make these around the holidays, I often double the batch—there’s always someone who wants just one more.

Instructions

  1. Start by crushing the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. You can do this by placing them in a large zip-top bag and rolling over them with a rolling pin, or pulsing a few times in a food processor. Aim for a sandy texture with just a few tiny chunks for a bit of crunch.
  2. Transfer the crumbs to a mixing bowl and add the softened cream cheese. Using a sturdy spatula or your hands (I always get a little messy here—just like in Mama Lu’s kitchen), mix until the crumbs and cream cheese are fully combined into a dough-like consistency.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Pop them into the fridge for at least 30 minutes to firm up. This step is key—chilling helps the truffles hold their shape when dipped.
  4. While the truffles chill, melt the white chocolate chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second bursts, stirring each time until smooth. Add a small amount of green gel food coloring and stir until you reach a bright, Grinchy green.
  5. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled truffle into the green chocolate coating. Let the excess drip off gently, then place the truffle back on the parchment paper.
  6. If you’re adding the Grinch’s mouth and eyes, let the coating set for about 10 minutes, then use red candy melts or decorating gel to draw a mischievous grin. Place candy eyes above the mouth while the chocolate is still soft. If you don’t have candy eyes, a small dab of white chocolate with a dot of dark chocolate can work just as well.
  7. Allow the truffles to set completely at room temperature or in the fridge for another 30 minutes before serving.

One thing Mama Lu always said was,

“Patience is the secret ingredient no recipe can teach.” Here, letting your truffles chill properly makes all the difference.
